The sounds were a good mix of cooing, crying, and all-out screaming. It was a decent exposure for my little schnauzer who tends to bark a lot at random noises. I started out at a low volume and then steadily increased it. He took to it well, not really minding...then again, I think a lot of dogs know the difference between a real baby making sounds in person rather than a recording. I plan on carrying around a doll too to show that we will be showing affection to a baby soon...

We have three dogs and are having our first child in October. The dogs aren't around kids very often, and almost never around babies, so I was thrilled to find a CD that has baby noises on it. I've only played it once (and I'm sure it's more effective with frequent playing), but the dogs reacted immediately, so I knew they were aware of new sounds. I'll try to remember to post an update once the baby's born - but so far, I'm very happy with the CD!

I purchased this CD on the guidance of a book I read when preparing our dog for the arrival of our son. He was petrified of babies and young children. This CD was perfect to turn on to desensitize him to the baby's noises. It worked perfectly and he does not even blink and eye when the baby starts to cry. Very, very helpful.

We purchased this cd at the recommendation of our dog trainer to help him get ready for the baby. It was helpful in making baby sounds a positive experience for him. We played the CD and would give him extra attention or special treats. He did become anxious with the CD, but was able to become used to the sounds.

I bought this CD because one of my dogs is a very anxious dog and thought that it may help ease her during all the changes with a new baby. I also thought that maybe she wouldn't notice since she is use to hearing noise come from the CD player. I was wrong. Both of my dogs came running upstairs once I turned the Baby Sounds CD on and they were trying to figure out where the crying was coming from; looking outside, etc. I did as the CD instructed by giving treats to them while playing it and they handled it very nicely. Now we will just wait and see what happens when the real live baby comes!

I got this because our first child is on the way. Our rescued American Eskimo came running when I first turned the CD on, then he quickly lost interest. He howls at some noises so we were worried he might do the same thing when the baby cries. Thanks to this CD we realize he'll probably ignore the baby crying. I think the baby crying tracks bothered me the most...I had to go turn it off.

We are not actually using it for the purpose you designed. We have a severely disabled almost 4year old son who is just starting to make some sounds but we thought it would be useful for him to hear baby gurgling sounds in the hope that will help him start to mimic and maybe make some sounds with the front of his mouth rather than all tracheal sounds (don't think I will play him the tantrums though - I would be happy for him not to learn that).
